I don't think that Transcendentalism expressly states a belief
in reincarnation. I don't think that reincarnation is an intrinsic part of the Transcendental
movement. Part of the reason why I am not the movement had such a direct and strong embrace of
reincarnation was because of its zealous assertion of the individual. The Transcendentalists
argued for the individual in present context. This context aware conception of the individual
and their actions being so important in the here and now is something that vitiates, to a certain
extent, the beliefs of reincarnation, which suggests that the individual is a smaller part of a
larger design. The affirmation of self and the primacy placed on self is something that is a
part of Transcendentalism, and something not entirely seen in beliefs of reincarnation. Yet, I
think that the Transcendentalists were such strong believers in non- conformity that they could
have embraced thinking such as reincarnation because it was so different that traditional
American religious expressions. In the end, I think that the movement, from an intellectual
point of view, has some challenges with the reconciliation of its ideas and reincarnation. Yet,
I could see thinkers of the movement embracing the thought process that advocates reincarnation
because it is so fundamentally different from what traditional religion offered in America at the
time.

What does Transcendentalism have to do with reincarnation?

In "Anthem for Doomed Youth", by Wilfred Owen, what will serve as "passing-bells?" doomed youth, guns, orisons, shires, or brows
In Wilfred Owen's "Anthem for Doomed Youth," the author refers
to the tolling of bells.
It has been a common practice in England
for hundreds of years to toll church bells at someone's passing. It occurs
still today, in some places in the United States, and even at memorial services for those lost a
sea. The tolling is a slow, mournful ringing. With this in mind, we can assume that Owen's
reference to bells questions how the bells will be rung on the battlefield for all those who have
died.
The answer for "who will serve as passing bells" is found in
the first two lines of the poem—the guns blasting will have to serve also as the
bells:
What
passing-bells for these who die as cattle?Only the
monstrous anger of the
guns.
"Doomed youth" cannot
toll bells for themselves as they are dead. The "shires" are far away in England, and they cannot
toll bells on the battlefield for those who have
fallen—if a body is returned home, then it will happen.
"Orisons" or prayers are quiet and would not serve to draw the necessary attention to the loss of
lives. "Brows" is the "throw-away" answer. In context, the brows belong to the women left behind
as the men go off to war, the same women who now will grieve.
Where
the guns act as the tolling bells, the rifles rattle off prayers. It is as if in the midst of
war, the aspects of society that are in place at one's death (the tolling of bells or the
whispered "orisons" or prayers) are replaced by elements of the war, by necessity of where these
men find themselves.

Only the stuttering rifles' rapid
rattle
Can patter out their hasty
orisons.
The best answer to this
question is "guns."
How did the military affect politics in 20th century Latin America?
In general, the militaries of various Latin American countries
affected politics by controlling the government at times in the countries'
histories.
In many Latin American countries, the army was the most
organized and cohesive force in the country. These countries had weak commitments to democracy
(at best) and civilian governments often descended into chaos. When this would happen, the
military would often step in and overthrow the government in an attempt to create stability. The
military might then install a dictator like Juan Peron in Argentina or it might create a military
junta to rule by committee.
The military interventions were not
always motivated by a need for stability. At times, the military would simply intervene because
military commanders did not like the direction that policies were taking in the country. An
example of this is the overthrow of the Allende government in Chile by Augusto
Pinochet.
Throughout the 20th century, many Latin American countries
were ruled by their militaries at some point. In this way, the military had a huge impact on
politics in the region.
How can I edit it?Hi, I am a accountant. I am preparing a balance sheet but because of staff shortage and time pressures I cant complete it on...
Most certainly there are lot of different accounting software
packages available which make the total task of maintaining and analysing accounts fast and easy.
The facility for preparing balance sheet is one of the basic tasks that all such software
provide. Such systems also provide facilities of using applicable data from the accounts of
previous accounting period, without having to reenter the data again. Such data often consists of
master information such as charts of accounts, and data such as closing balances that can be used
as opening balances for the new accounting period. Other data such as rates of items like rent or
discount, that remain unchanged, can be copied from the previous accounting period. However, if
you are not already using one of such systems, I do not think it is possible to introduce a new
system without having to feed the entire data into the new
system.
If you are looking for shifting from an old system to a new
system with better facilities, the vendor of the new software package may provide some facility
for converting the data in existing system to a format suitable for the new system. However the
total cost and effort of shifting to a different accounting software package is likely to be much
more than what can be justified for just preparing a balance sheet.

Does Melville believe that the lawyer does as much as he can to help Bartleby in Bartleby the Scrivener, A Tale of Wall Street?
I think this is subject to interpretation and it is impossible
to know what “Melville believed.” But, within the context of the story itself, the lawyer does
make multiple attempts to help Bartleby without resorting to force. Whether or not that is going
far enough to help him is up to the reader.
The lawyer mentions
early on that he believes the easiest way of life is the best, so he would be one to accept the
way society runs and go with the flow. Bartleby rejects society passively. This intrigues the
lawyer and eventually elicits sympathy from him. If Bartleby had actively or violently rejected
the lawyer’s world, the lawyer would have had a much more clear idea of Bartleby’s motives and
may have done little to help him. That being said, because Bartleby is rejecting the
impersonality and indifference of the world (particularly the business world) by being impersonal
himself, the lawyer can’t fight Bartleby, and if he can’t fight him, he can only ignore or help.
So, maybe the question becomes; could Bartleby be helped at this point in his life. The lawyer
noted that Bartleby had recently worked at the Dead Letter office and seems to conclude that
Bartleby had gone beyond despair to the point of a death drive. Either the lawyer believes
Bartleby is beyond help or the lawyer convinces himself that Bartleby is beyond help. If he does
convince himself, then he is back to “the easiest way of life is best,” meaning the lawyer has
empathy, but kind of a fake liberalism; the lawyer wants to ‘help as much as he can’ but when it
gets too bizarre or difficult, he retracts back to the easy life, much in the way Bartleby
retracts away from that life.
The supply equation is: Qs=10p-100 and the demand equation for 2 types of consumers is Qda=90-4p and Qdb=70-16p. What is the equilibrium price?
The equilibrium price for a product in the market is the point
where for a particular price the quantity that the producer is willing to supply at that price is
equal to the quantity that the consumer is willing to pay at that
price.
The supply and demand can be represented as curves on a graph
where the y-axis displays the price and the x-axis displays the quantity. In the question the
supply equation is Qs = 10p - 100 and there are two different categories of customers with a
demand equation given by Qda = 90 - 4p and Qdb = 70 - 16p.
The
equilibrium price for the customers in the category a can be calculated by equating Qs and Qda,
this gives
10p - 100 = 90 -
4p
=> 10p + 4p = 90 +
100
=> 14p = 190
=> p =
190/14
Similarly for the category b, equating Qs and Qdb
gives
10p - 100 = 70 - 16p
=>
100 + 70 = 10p + 16p
=> 170 =
16p
=> p = 170/16
The
equilibrium price for the customer in category a is 190/14 and that for customers in category b
is 170/16
What should i do to prove that the line y=2x-10 is tangent to circle x^2-4x+y^2+2y=0?
To prove that y = 2x - 10 is tangent to the circle we find the
center and radius of the circle and show that the distance of the center from the line is equal
to the radius.
The circle: x^2 - 4x + y^2 + 2y =
0
=> x^2 - 4x + 4 + y^2 + 2y + 1 =
-5
=> (x - 2)^2 + (y + 1)^2 = (sqrt
5)^2
The center of the circle is (2, -1) and the radius is sqrt
5
The distance of the point (2, -1) from y = 2x - 10
is
|2*2 + 1 - 10|/sqrt (4 +
1)
=> 5/sqrt 5
=> sqrt
5
We see that the point (2, -1) does lie at a distance equal to
(sqrt 5) from the line 2x - y - 10 = 0
This proves
that y = 2x - 10 is tangent to circle x^2 - 4x + y^2 + 2y =
0
