Given that 12a = 20b, find the ratio of a to b in simplest form.

12a = 20b .

To find the ratio
a:b, we need to find a/b.

==> But we are given that
12a = 20b

Then we will divide by
12.

==> a = 20b/12

Now
we will simplify the fraction.

==> a =
5b/3.

Now we will substitute into
a/b.

==> a/b = (5b/3) /
b

==> a/b = (5b)/3b

We
will reduce b.

==> a/b =
5/3.

Then, the ratio a:b is
5:3.
